Ugo Dehaes was born in Belgium (1977). He works and lives in Brussels.
Ugo started dancing at the age of 18 by taking workshops with David
Hernandez, Benoit Lachambre, Saburro Teshigawara, and others. In 1996 he
started at P.A.R.T.S., the school for choreographers and dancers organized
by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker.
From 1998 to 2001 Ugo was working for Meg Stuart / Damaged Goods on the
pieces Appetite and Highway 101.
In 2000 he founded together with charlotte vanden eynde the company kwaad
bloed in which he made following full evening performances: lijfstof (in
collaboration with charlotte vanden eynde - 2000), coupure (permanent
sculpture - 2002), ROEST (2002), Rozenblad (2004) and couple-like (in
collaboration with Keren Levi - 2006).
At the same time he continued working as a dancer with other choreographers
as Arco Renz, Gisèle Vienne / Etienne Bideau-Rey, Emil Hrvatin, Kataline
Patkaï, Nada Gambier, and others.
Ugo is also often working as a dancer/actor for installations and movies (
